NOVOCASTRIANS have another two days of stunning weather to enjoy before an expected cold snap interrupts the run of warm spring conditions.
A cold change is expected to pass through the Hunter from the south-west overnight Wednesday, bringing winds of up to 50 kilometres per hour, between three and 20 millimetres of rain and dropping the maximum temperature to 19 degrees.
The showers are forecast to linger on Friday and Saturday before becoming mostly clear on Sunday.
The Hunter has basked in spectacular and increasingly warm spring weather over the past week.
Sunday was arguably the pick of the week as it reached a top of 24 degrees in Newcastle.
Thousands of people turned out at Newcastle Beach and the ocean baths to surf, swim, sun bake and enjoy a game of volleyball.
Temperatures increased on Monday, reaching a top of 26 degrees at Nobbys Beach and 28 at Cooranbong.
Another fine spring day is predicted for Tuesday with a top of 27 degrees for Newcastle and 28 degrees at Cessnock.
The heat will continue to rise on Wednesday, reaching a top of 30 degrees along the coast and 29 in the Hunter Valley, before the cold change moves in.
