Adam Levine has become the centre of a scandal this week, involving him, his Victoria Secret model wife Behati Prinsloo, and at least three other women.
Levine has been accused of sending flirty texts to several women who aren’t his wife. It all started on Monday, 19 September, when Instagram model Sumner Stroh posted a TikTok claiming that Levine hit on her and even asked if he could name his baby after her.
In screenshots which appear to show Levine privately messaging Stroh, he says: “It is truly unreal how f***ing hot you are. Like it blows my mind. You are 50 times hotter in person.” Adding afterwards, for posterity: “And so am I.”
Later, apparently after months of no communication, Levine seems to send Stroh a message saying: "Ok serious question. I’m having another baby and if it’s [a] boy I really wanna name it Sumner. You ok with that? DEAD serious."
Levine then admitted to “crossing the line” in a post on his Instagram story, saying: “I used poor judgement in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life. In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.
“My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it. And we will get through it together.”
Notably, Levine does not identify Sumner Stroh as the only person he “crossed the line” with. Which is lucky, because shortly afterwards two other women came forward with receipts appearing to document even more of Levine’s bad behaviour.
American comedian Maryka posted a screengrab on Tuesday showing an apparent conversation with Levine, in which she mentions herself taking some time away from Instagram, and he responds “Distract yourself by f***ing with me!”
She also showed evidence of a video of the Payphone singer which seems to have been sent directly to her, with Levine saying “I’m stupid” to the camera - the context is unclear.
A woman named Alyson Rosef then stepped up to the plate, sharing yet more screenshots of flirty texts. In a conversation between her and a verified Instagram account which looks as if it belongs to Adam Levine, she jokes: “I must be doing something right,” to which he responds, “Absolutely. Got me [fish hook emoji].”
The woman adds, “I’m so weird too and only listen to metal lol.” Levine responds: “Said no hot chicks ever other than you.”
Not only are these texts more akin to something you would receive on your Blackberry in year 10, they also surfaced after Levine’s initial apology.
Levine has yet to respond to the latest accusations.
