Cole Walliser, AKA the Glambot guy who pops up at every award show, has apologised after some of his less-than-friendly interactions with potential clients resurfaced on social media.
In case your social media feed has been dominated by the Beckham family feud or the endless updates about the “toxic” mum group drama over the past few weeks, Walliser made headlines earlier this month when fans accused Jennifer Lopez of being rude to him while posing for the Glambot at this year’s Golden Globes.
He eventually posted a TikTok defending J-Lo, but it wasn’t long before fans accused him of being just as rude to people online.
A 2019 email exchange shared to X (formerly Twitter) by a user named Yinka Animashaun showed her enquiring about using Walliser’s Glambot for her wedding and being questioned if it’s in her “price range” because the camera system is “not cheap”. After Animashaun confirmed she could foot the bill, his reply appeared to be quite terse.
“I don’t see how you could be since I didn’t say how much it was and it could be between $10,000 to $1,000,000,” Walliser allegedly wrote.
Cole Walliser posts an apology video
After a handful of other interactions appeared online — and Animashaun said she will continue to speak out about the incident “until [she] receives an apology” — Walliser posted a video on Wednesday saying sorry.
“I want to talk about some emails that I sent years ago that resurfaced recently. The tone in these emails was dismissive and curt, and that is not okay,” he began.
Walliser explained that he didn’t have a team around him in 2019, so he was “overwhelmed” having to edit every video and answer every email by himself, but admitted that “that is not an excuse”.
“I think the hardest part about all of this is being labelled racist,” he continued. “I’m half Chinese, and growing up, issues of identity, race, and belonging deeply affected me, and I would never intend to inflict that onto anybody else.
“But I do understand that reading these emails, people could be upset and assume bias, especially given the frequency at which people of colour experience being dismissed. And so I take responsibility for my words, regardless of what my intent was.”
He also acknowledged people’s concerns that they were “mistreated or felt dismissed or treated less than on the red carpet”, and said he would never want people feeling that way after meeting him.
“I am sorry,” he said. “I’d like to think that I have grown a lot in the past seven years, and I always want to treat everybody with the respect that they deserve. But clearly, more could be done, and I can do better. And so that’s a thing that I want to focus on — improving and just working towards being better.”
How have fans responded?
The video — which low-key gives off James Charles apology video energy — quickly racked up over 1.4 million views on TikTok in the first few hours and received mostly positive comments.
While some people seemingly missed the part where he said “I am sorry” and argued that his apology wasn’t actually an apology, the majority applauded him for owning his mistakes.
“Bro you’re fine, the internet is just doing what it loves to do — judge others so they can avoid judging themselves,” one person commented, while another added, “It’s been seven years, people need to give it a rest”.
Others also hilariously accused J-Lo’s PR team of working overtime to clear her name and draw attention away from her involvement, and honestly, iconic if true.
Unless the pop superstar eventually speaks out about her side of the saga (highly unlikely), it appears this is well and truly the end of the Glambot drama. But, for the sake of all of our entertainment, let’s hope 2026 continues to deliver the most random, low-stakes, Hollywood-centric drama for us to obsess over in the group chat.
