Cheese-lovers rejoice as the Giant Welsh Cheese Advent Calendar by the Welsh Cheese Company is back by popular demand, just in time for the festive season. The giant advent calendar contains a whopping 4.2kilograms of cheesy deliciousness and is made up of four separate triangles - each measuring 51 x 32.5 cm.
When put together, the enormous calendar - which retails at £164 - resembles a Christmas-tree shape and stands at over one metre. Initially created as a one off treat for 2021, Tom Pinder, the founder of Welsh Cheese Company, said: "We thought it would be wonderful to bring a whole range of brilliant Welsh cheeses together in a giant advent calendar – but to be honest, we didn’t know if people would actually buy it or not.”

However, after the roaring success of its sales last year, it was an obvious decision to bring it back for Christmas 2022. This cheese-mas delight should be available to buy later this week and you can join the waitlist to ensure so you don't miss out.
Tom explained: "It turns out, people love the idea; we’ve already had customers emailing us to ask if the calendars will be going on sale again. Whilst four kilos of cheese did sound bonkers, everything lasted until at least the new year, so it was perfect for people hosting big gatherings over the festive period. We just had to do it again!”
If you can't quite handle the sheer volume of cheese the Giant Welsh Cheese Advent Calendar provies, you can buy a miniature version of the item - which contains a smaller selection of six cheeses, weighs 1.3 killograms and comes in at £43.
