Traffic across the North East may be impacted by roadworks during this coming week.
Some roads in the region will be closed while others will have temporary traffic lights put in place. Diversions may have been introduced as a result of the ongoing work.

Newcastle:
Temporary traffic lights in High Heaton due to water main work on Newton Road between Newton Place and Weldon Crescent. Until January 10.
Temporary traffic lights due to gas main work on Shieldfield Lane at B1600 Stoddart Street. Until January 28.
Temporary traffic lights in Shieldfield due to gas main work on Union Street at Ingham Place. Until January 28.
Strawberry Lane in both directions closed due to roadworks from Strawberry Place to St Andrews Street. Until February 23.
Rothbury Terrace in Heaton closed in both directions due to long-term roadworks from Heaton Road to A188 Chillingham Road. Until February 26.
Simonside Terrace in Heaton closed in both directions due to roadworks from Heaton Road to Lesbury Road. Until February 26.
Temporary traffic lights due to gas main work on A186 City Road at Tyne Street until March 3.
Saville Row closed due to roadworks from Northumberland Street to North Street. Until April 9.
Redheugh Bridge Road closed due to roadworks from Shot Factory Lane to A695 Railway Street. Until 12:47 on June 29.

Temporary traffic lights until January 17 due to roadworks on Hawks Road at Mill Road.

Narrow lanes and speed restriction of 50 mph due to major widening works on A1 Western Bypass in both directions from J67 Kingsway South (Coalhouse Roundabout) to A1(M) J65 / A194M Birtley. Work to create an extra lane in each direction. Until May 31, 2025.

Temporary traffic lights in Ashington due to roadworks on Woodhorn Road in both directions at Maple Street. From 9:30am until 15:30pm on January 9.
Ovingham Road closed due to gas main work between Main Road in Ovingham and Horsley Turning in Wylam.
