Simon Cowell lost four stone in four years after cutting out dairy, sugar, gluten and red meat from his diet, reports The Express. The Britain's Got Talent judge, 62, was inspired to improve his physical health to keep up with his son Eric, who is now eight.
Speaking to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres in 2019, Cowell said he was given an ultimatum by his doctor, who told him he had "the worst diet" they had ever seen. Motivated to get his physical health back on track, he had to stop one of his unhealthy habits – smoking, drinking alcohol or eating poorly.
The TV personality said he felt much better soon after giving up dairy, sugar, gluten and red meat. He said he was glad that his new routine still allowed him to enjoy beer.

Speaking to The Sun in April, Cowell said he now eats "loads" of vegetables and has increased the amount he cooks at home. He told the newspaper: “If you’re on a diet you have to keep the food sensible, but it’s got to be interesting and tasty, then the diet’s surprisingly easy."
He has combined dieting with a workout routine including cycling, walking and weight lifting. He said one of the biggest challenges is whenever he sees Eric enjoying a pizza, which is the food he misses the most.
Cowell is currently appearing in the latest series of ITV 's Britain's Got Talent. He has returned to the show as a judge after a cycling injury sustained in 2020 meant he missed the end of series 14.
