Basel's former Roma defender Riccardo Calafiori has said that he dreams of playing for either West Ham United or Chelsea within the next five years.
The 20-year-old, who has played three times for Italy at U21 level, came through Roma's academy and made 18 senior appearances for them, scoring once and playing eight times across the Europa League and the Europa Conference League prior to joining Basel in the summer.
The left-back has quickly become Basel's first-choice left-back and has made ten appearances for them this season, becoming a regular for the Swiss side, who are in this season's Europa Conference League alongside West Ham.

Calafiori's contract in Switzerland will keep him there until the summer of 2025, but long-term, he has ambitions of playing in the Premier League, citing West Ham and Chelsea as two clubs he would like to play for.
Speaking about his long-term ambitions in an interview with Vocegiallorossa, Calafiori has said that in five years' time, he would want to either return to Rome, or play in the Premier League for the Hammers or London rivals Chelsea.
“I have two images: going back to Italy, perhaps in Rome," said Calafiori. "Or my dream would be to play in the Premier League. I really like West Ham or Chelsea.”
