UPDATE DECEMBER 17, 2024: Nima Momeni was found guilty of second-degree by a San Francisco jury after a two-month trial for the murder of Bob Lee.
Momeni had pleaded not guilty, and during the trial his lawyers argued that Momeni acted in self-defense after a joke he made about Lee's parenting prompted Lee to lunge at him with a kitchen knife in his possession. Prosecutors said it was Momeni who brought the knife along early that morning and who stabbed Lee because of an argument over Momeni's sister, who Lee had a close relationship with. Momeni was acquitted of first-degree murder and faces up to 16 years in prison for conviction of second-degree murder.
