If you're a regular player of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies, you're probably aware of the seemingly endless hunt for the last Relic on Ashes of the Damned.
Today, that hunt is over, and the final one has, at last, been unlocked. The Tier 2 Relic, Samantha's Drawing, was the only blank spot of the nine, and fortunately, it's not too hard to get.
Admittedly my Zombies game is low, but I watched it unfold as YouTuber, Lazarus Rising, got the details and went through the process. That process you can see in the Short below.
Essentially, the process is:
- Be in at least Cursed Tier I.
- Throw weapons, beginning with the starting gray tier pistol into Chompy.
- In order, throw a blue, purple, and then a legendary tier weapon into Chompy.
- Progress to at least round 40.
- Throw a Wonder Weapon into Chompy.
Once all of that has been completed, the portal will spawn over in the Cosmodrome. The Relic Trial disables ammo caches and max ammo, but the Elite enemies will drop some.
Upon completion, Samantha's Relic will be awarded, and if you have the other eight Relics unlocked, you'll complete the Reliquary Calling Card challenge, too.
Given that Ashes of the Damned was the launch map for Black Ops 7, and that it's a Tier 2 Relic, it's quite remarkable it took this long to uncover. It's not the most convoluted process, especially considering some of the wild things the community has been trying in order to find it.
I heard a suggestion that it could have been bugged and was stealthily fixed with the recent updates. If this actually was the case, despite the hidden nature of Relics and that they're supposed to be hard to find, that would be some bad juju from Treyarch.
Nevertheless, it's working now, so you can get out there and complete the set. What does it actually do?
"Every weapon the player has will swap each round, but retain the Pack-a-Punch and rarity level."
Sounds suitably awful, to me. Who wants to go into battle with the Arc launcher in hand?
