Leeds United U21s forward Sonny Perkins was pleased to continue his excellent run of form in front of goal in the 5-1 win over Nottingham Forest. Perkins netted the third of the afternoon at Thorp Arch to make it five games in a row in which he has found the net since his summer move from West Ham United.
The 18-year-old helped Leeds continue their fine start to the new season as Michael Skubala’s side sit top of Premier League 2 Division 2 with 10 points from four matches. Perkins, along with fellow 2022 signings Darko Gyabi and Mateo Joseph, have been the key to the Young Whites’ excellent form.
Speaking to LUTV after the game, Perkins believes Leeds showed a different side of themselves coming from behind to win, and is hopeful of continuing his excellent run of form in front of goal.

He said: “Everyone’s really happy with the result. It’s another good win, we want to win every game we play because we think we have the quality to do that.
“We’re really happy with the result and how we fought back from 1-0 down. I think that’s the first time this season we’ve gone behind in a game.
“The boys showed their quality because in the end I think we dominated the game. It wasn’t a perfect match, we had to fight and work as a team and help each other out against a team that was playing so deep to take our authority on the match and in the end it worked and we were too much for them.
“Of course, I want to score in as many games as possible. It’s nice that I’ve scored in every game so far and hopefully that continues as long as possible. That’s the feeling I love the most, scoring goals and I’m glad I’ve been able to do it again today.”
