The fee Rangers will demand for transfer of Robby McCrorie

Rangers will seek £500,000 for the permanent transfer of Robby McCrorie this summer, according to a report.

Philippe Clement and his recruitment team are set for a busy few months ahead in the market as the Belgian looks to reshape his squad ahead of the new Scottish Premiership season.

McCrorie, 26, has informed Ibrox chiefs he no longer wishes to be part of the plans, and that he wants to move on to pastures new in order to play regular first-team football as a No.1.

The Scotland understudy has played second fiddle at Rangers for several seasons now, and with Liam Kelly due to arrive on a free agent after the Euros, McCrorie sees his future elsewhere.

He still has another year left on his current contract at his boyhood club though, and so, any interested buyer would need to stump up some cash.

The Daily Record claims the amount Rangers are looking for is £500k plus significant add-ons.

Aberdeen are said to be interested in taking the Ayrshire-lad away from Glasgow, with Kelle Roos likely to be replaced as their first pick.

A number of clubs south of the border are also interested, while Kilmarnock have been linked too.

A source close to the player said: “Robby believes he has waited long enough and listened to so many promises from previous managers and coaches and it could be his loyalty to the club has not helped him.

“Although Rangers are desperate to hold on to him, he says he has to move on now.”

Clement has already allowed Jon McLaughlin to leave the club at the end of his contract as he was among a five-man list of free transfer exits.

John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe also bid farewell to the Ibrox club upon the expiry of their contract.
