Football ownership group 'The Fans Together' have this afternoon issued a brief statement regarding their wishes to invest into Sunderland AFC. The collective claims they are 'in discussion' to purchase both Stewart Donald and Charlie Methven's remaining stakes in the club.

The cryptocurrency group are said to be keen on purchasing Donald and Methven's remaining 39 per cent stake in the club which they have held since the summer of 2018. Citing a previous successful track record with Greek Super League 2 side FC Episkopi, Sky Sports Tom White relayed the news via social media.

After selling 41 per cent of the club to Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, Sunderland’s 24-year-old chairman, both Donald and Methven announced they would took a back seat in a bid to try and offload their own stakes. Juan Sartori, the Uruguayan businessman and politician, continues to retain 20 per cent.
