Cordarrelle Patterson has always been somewhat of an NFL unicorn in his career.
He’s been a wide receiver, a returner and a running back, sometimes all in the same game. And it’s worked for the Atlanta Falcons veteran.
It was assumed that Patterson would back up Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier at RB, but the first Falcons depth chart of the season has him listed as … “J.”
Apparently, that stands for “Joker,” as Patterson himself alluded to on Twitter. It was also clarified by Arthur Smith as the team’s 2023 season is set to begin.
I kind of wish this would become a thing in the NFL more:
Falcons coach Arthur Smith on the Joker position: "He can play a lot of spots."
Cordarrelle Patterson's position was listed as a J on the Falcons' Week 1 depth chart. Patterson then tweeted a picture of the Joker.

Cordarrelle Patterson name says J on the Falcons depth chart. I’m going to say Jack of all trades(Running Back, Slot) or Joker to be funny 😂. Don’t be surprised if you see Flash, Bijan, & Tyler on the field at the same time on Sunday. #Dirtybirds #Falcons #NFL pic.twitter.com/eY5LPWxBO7
