The 'exemplary' Celtic praise from Spain on unseen part of moving to Parkhead

A top Spanish daily sports publication has hailed Celtic and the club's handling of Alex Valle since the full-back moved to Parkhead on loan this summer.

The 20-year-old will spend the duration of the 2024/25 campaign in Glasgow's east end having moved from La Liga giants Barcelona, and has so far impressed on the pitch for Brendan Rodgers.

With Greg Taylor still on his way back to full fitness, Valle has stepped into the manager's starting XI, making his first UEFA Champions League start against Atalanta last week during Celtic's well-earned 0-0 draw in Italy.

But it's not just on-pitch matters that have impressed Sport about Celtic from afar, with the publication also praising the support the player has received.

Sport said (via 67Hail Hail): "The left-back’s adaptation is going smoothly. In four days, as soon as he arrived, he had a car, a flat and medical insurance. Celtic is exemplary in this respect.

"Alex arrived already with the lesson learned with English and, in fact, is not even taking classes in [Scotland].

"Against Atalanta, he started for the first time in his career in a Champions League match. He did so, moreover, with an ankle injury. But he wanted to be there for a historic match for them."

Going into the summer transfer window, Rodgers was keen to increase competition in the wider squad – a move epitomised by the signing of Valle.

In his latest analytic piece for The Celtic Way, Stewart Ross explored why Celtic left-back Valle may be the new starting left-back.
