The epic karaoke rooms hidden in Dublin city centre restaurant you had no idea existed

Did you know there are unreal karaoke rooms in a Vietnamese restaurant just around the corner from O'Connell Street?

Upon walking into Boba Bar, a small Vietnamese restaurant and bubble tea bar on Parnell Street, a passionate rendition of We Don't Talk About Bruno from Encancto could be heard as a group of women had the time of their life upstairs.

If you weren't already aware of the restaurant's unique party offering, it wouldn't take you long to guess that the group were indeed enjoying a spot of karaoke.

Boba Bar is home to two karaoke rooms above its restaurant, and both are kitted out with everything you need to put on your very own concert with your pals.

The first room on the first floor holds around 15 people and features lively lighting, a large screen, microphones and stylish decor, as does the second room on the second floor which holds around 12 people.

Boba Bar owner Tan Vu told Dublin Live that the karaoke rooms have been there since the restaurant first opened in 2021, but not many people know about them.

"A lot of people don't know that the karaoke rooms are here but when they find them, they really like it," he said.

"They get that wow factor when they come into the rooms.

"People can eat downstairs and then come up to do karaoke or they can eat in the karaoke rooms. We serve drinks here as well."

Boba Bar charges €40 per hour for the karaoke rooms. For an hour for 15 people, that works out at just €2.60 each.

The system contains a catalogue of songs for Chinese and Vietnamese customers and some in English. Singers can also connect YouTube to the system, meaning they can sing whatever they can find online.

In terms of food, there is a range of Vietnamese delights to enjoy before, during or after your dinging session including dry noodles, soup noodles, curries, spring rolls and Vietnamese pancakes.

Additionally, Boba Bar has become known for its range of bubble tea, a refreshment that is becoming increasingly popular in Dublin as of late.
