Brighton have received an apology from the PGMOL in the aftermath of their game with Tottenham.
The refereeing body has admitted a mistake was made by matchday officials and VAR when Brighton were denied a penalty in yesterday's Premier League match in North London.
Howard Webb, PGMOL's chief refereeing officer, has apologised to Brighton and held talks with them about the decision-making process in the game.
It is the second time the Seagulls have received a sorry message from the organisation this season, and it marks the third time in total that the PGMOL has felt compelled to apologise for errors made by referees.
The scores were level at 1-1 when Kaoru Mitoma appeared to be fouled by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the area, with referee Stuart Attwell initially declining to penalise the Tottenham midfielder.

The footage was looked at by VAR Michael Salisbury at Stockley Park, before play surprisingly resumed with no spot-kick being awarded.
The precedent set down south comes as Rangers approached the Scottish FA for answers amid their own gripes with officiating at VAR.
It follows on from the Ibrox side's 3-2 defeat to Celtic in Saturday's Old Firm derby at Parkhead.
Rangers are believed to have contacted the SFA for clarification as to why Alfredo Morelos' goal was disallowed in the first half of the game.
The striker thought he'd given the Light Blues the lead as the first half approached the midway point as a Gers corner was floated into the box.
The Colombian prodded home from close range after a tussle in the box with Celtix's Alistair Johnston.
As he wheeled away to celebrate referee Kevin Clancy sounded his whistle as he penalised Morelos for a foul on Johnston. VAR checked the incident and Nick Walsh concurred with the decision after deeming it not to be a "clear and obvious" error.
This has angered Ibrox chiefs though, as well as Michael Beale and James Tavernier in the wake of the derby defeat.
It remains to be seen what response they will receive from the SFA about the situation.
