A three part true crime drama following the story of Britain's largest manhunt will air on ITV tonight (April 16).
The Hunt for Raoul Moat will air on ITV tonight, 13 years after Moat headed to Birtley and shot his ex-girlfriend, Samantha Stobbart, and killed her new boyfriend Christopher Brown. Moat also fired a gun at PC David Rathband, which blinded him, the shootings triggered a six day manhunt.
Headlines around the world were made in July 2010 when Moat shot three people in 24 hours, before going on the run for a week, involving 160 armed officers. The true crime drama is set to follow the events of which happened in those days.

Raoul Moat will be played by North East actor Matt Stokoe, who is from Durham. Emmerdale star, Dale Meeks, will also feature in the Raoul Moat documentary playing one of Moat's friends, Rory Sutcliffe.
Who is Dale Meeks?
Born in 1975, Dale Meeks is a Geordie actor best known for his role as Simon Meredith in Emmerdale and the winner of ITV's Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes with Mark Charnock as the Blues Brothers.
Meeks has also starred in Byker Grove as the leader of a gang from rival youth club Denton Burn for 5 series and played Hips in the BBC series Breezeblock. He also toured the UK with the musical Chicago and appeared in the West End production of Love Never Dies - he will also appear in the upcoming series of George Gently as Panda.
The 47-year-old made his first screen appearance in Emmerdale as Simon Meredith, on November 20, 2003. He was initially only contracted to appear in the village for three months but proved popular and his contract was extended by twelve months as a result.
Simon arrived in the village making a fish delivery to Cafe Hope, where he was then mistakenly set up on a date with Nicola Blackstock - the couple eventually got together and Simon proposed - the engagement went to shambles after Nicola ran their business into the ground. He eventually becomes dissatisfied with life in the village and decides to leave for Costa Rica in August 2006.
He also played the leader of a gang from rival youth club Denton Burn in Byker Grove, which was a British teen drama and coming of age television series - it aired between 1989 and 2006 as part of CBBC on BBC One. The series was set and filmed in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne, and was aimed at an older teenager and young adult audience, tackling serious and sometimes controversial storylines. The show is notable for depicting the first gay kiss on children’s television.
The Hunt for Raoul Moat will air April 16, 17, and April 18 on ITV1. A follow-up documentary about the manhunt is then scheduled for April 19.
