The eight Manchester United players whose transfer values have risen over the last year

Manchester United endured one of their worst seasons in decades last term. A squad bereft of confidence and ideas tallied their lowest ever Premier League points haul as clear fractions between players emerged on the pitch.

The transfer value of many fell throughout the year amid the miserable showing. Transfer website Transfermarkt regularly updates the market value of players across globe - which should only be taken as a rough guide rather than precise calculations. But nevertheless, it demonstrates the fall in price of several key United players.

For example, Marcus Rashford’s value has fallen from £76.5m from summer 2021 to £54m this summer. Cristiano Ronaldo’s price has dropped from £40.5m to £27m over the same period, possibly due to his age rather than performance.

Bruno Fernandes is valued as United's priciest player at £76m ahead of Jadon Sancho at £67.5m with Rashford in third. Club captain Harry Maguire’s valuation fell from £43m to £32m, with Anthony Martial coming in at £14m - a drop of £26m.

However not all current United squad members have experienced reductions. In fact, eight players have seen their share price rise.

Diogo Dalot

The defender established himself as the primary right-back during the second half of last season, racking up 30 appearances overall. His value has increased from £10.8m to £18m.

Anthony Elanga

The winger had a breakthrough season last term, which peaked with a Sweden debut and a Champions League goal against Atletico Madrid. His price rise is the biggest increase in the entire squad - from £720,000 to £18m.

Brandon Williams

Williams spent last season out on loan at Norwich and despite relegation, saw his value rise. He edges up from £9m to £10.8m.

Shola Shoretire

The 18-year-old has serious talent, so much so that Erik ten Hag prevented his exit this summer. He’s now supposedly worth £3.6m after a promising academy season which included two of his five senior outings, up from £2.7m

Teden Mengi

The defender was also loaned out for the campaign, enjoying a term at Birmingham which was disrupted by injury. However, his stock still rose from £1.35m to £1.8m.

Alejandro Garnacho, Charlie Savage and Zidane Iqbal

The academy trio are seen as the rising stars of the new generation coming through the academy. All have been handed senior outings over the past 12 months, which has promoted price rises.

Garnacho is priced at £1.8m, while Savage and Iqbal are worth half-a-million pounds each.
