There are multiple first team players at Manchester United that are out of contract next summer.
Lee Grant, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Edinson Cavani are all leaving United upon the expiration of their deals on June 30, which means the summer exodus at the club has started with six departures on free transfers.
Erik ten Hag's reign at Old Trafford has officially started and United's players will report for pre-season at the end of the month. There are more outgoings expected at United this summer, but which players will be heading into the final year of their contracts ahead of the new season? The MEN have taken a closer look at those members of the dressing room below.

Marcus Rashford
Although Marcus Rashford struggled for form last season, scoring just five goals in 32 appearances, United have no intention of sanctioning an exit for him this summer. The player is expected to play a key role in Ten Hag's plans next term.
Rashford, 24, will be hoping to revive his career in the new campaign and that will be important considering his contract situation.
The forward's current deal expires next summer, but United do have the option of extending for an additional year.
Fred
Fred contributed four goals and six assists from midfield last term, which was his most involvement in the final third since joining the club. Fred has long been a polarising figure among supporters at United, but he continues to be a regular starter.
While the Brazilian's contract expires next summer, United also have the option of an additional year.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Ronaldo, 37, signed a two-year contract with the option of an additional year when he sealed a sensation return to United. That means while Ronaldo will soon be heading into the final year of his deal, United have the option to exercise an extension.
However, the power seems to be in Ronaldo's hands regarding his future. The forward has shown no signs of slowing down, despite being in the winter of his career. Ronaldo scored 24 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions last season.
David de Gea
Ronaldo and David de Gea were the only two players at United to end the season with their reputations unscathed.
The Spaniard started in the maximum of United's 38 Premier League games this season and was wonderfully consistent between the sticks, despite his teammates ahead of him regularly disappointing.
After an outstanding campaign, De Gea is almost certain to start the new season as Erik ten Hag's No.1 at Old Trafford, but with doubts remaining about his distribution, the goalkeeper could potentially leave United when his contract expires next summer.
United also have the option of triggering an additional year with De Gea's deal.
Luke Shaw
Shaw played 47 matches in all competitions in 2020/21 and he finished last season with just 27 appearances. He struggled with injury and his performances worsened, but he'll have the opportunity to make amends under Ten Hag.
The left-back has the option of an additional year, like the majority of his teammates.
Diogo Dalot
Diogo Dalot, 23, is the only player on this list without the option of an additional year on his contract. Dalot spent 2020/21 on loan at AC Milan, but made the breakthrough to United's first team last term, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka moving to the bench.
Ten Hag has informed Dalot he's in his plans, which suggests the player could eventually be set for a new deal.
Phil Jones
There's no denying that Phil Jones has overstayed his welcome at United, despite being the model professional and admirably overcoming his injury problems. The problem is that there has been a lack of concrete interest in Jones.
Jones, 30, hadn't played for United for two years until he returned against Wolves in January. He was one of United's best players in that defeat, but Rangnick threw him into the deep end against Liverpool at Anfield back in April.
The defender's contract expires next summer and United have long been open to selling him.
Tom Heaton
If Dean Henderson leaves United this summer, Tom Heaton is set for more minutes in the new season. Heaton, 36, played just 22 minutes last term and his contract at the club expires next summer. Heaton also has the option for an additional year.
