WWE have announced details of their first major stadium show in the United Kingdom in 30 years as Wales prepares to welcome some of wrestling's biggest stars.
Cardiff's Principality Stadium will play host to the event later this year, in what will be the first of its kind on British soil since Summerslam 1992 at Wembley. The show, which is as yet unnamed, will take place on Saturday September 3 and will see some of the world's biggest wrestling stars descend on the Welsh capital
The event promises to be one of the biggest the stadium has hosted, with the programming being seen in more than one billion homes worldwide in 30 different languages. Vaughan Gething, the Welsh Government's Minister for Economy has welcomed the announcement, saying it will "showcase our country to a global audience of millions, including extended reach in the USA”.
The Principality Stadium has hosted some of the biggest events in the world, including the UEFA Champions League final, Olympics and world heavyweight boxing, as well as concerts featuring Take That, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Justin Bieber, Bruce Springsteen.
But tickets for WWE are also going to be in high demand. While there's no information just yet on ticket prices and availability, further updates on that - as well as the event name and other details - are expected soon. However, the WWE have set up a link featuring a form for fans to be notified once the pre-sale commences.
