Dr Mark McGuigan cut an imposing figure as he strode across the reception area of the main University of the West of Scotland building on on the outskirts of Hamilton to greet your correspondent earlier this week.
The good doctor, the former Partick Thistle, Albion Rovers, Stranraer and Stenhousemuir forward and Celtic first team fitness coach who is now a lecturer in sport coaching at the university, stands 6ft 4in in his stocking feet.
