The day radio wind-up merchant Steve Penk prank-called Tony Blair and made headlines around the world

At 8.20am a Downing Street receptionist was transferring Steve Penk's call through to Tony Blair. By 10pm that night the radio presenter and professional wind-up merchant was the lead story on every news channel.

Twenty five years ago this week the Mancunian DJ, who was renowned for his hoax calls, pulled off his biggest ever prank. Here he looks back on how he did it.
