Dutch champions Ajax have proposed a £19m offer plus add-ons for Calvin Bassey, according to a report.
The Daily Mail also state Premier League side Brighton have tabled an offer of £16m for the Rangers standout. But it's understood the Europa League finalists have yet to receive an offer they deem acceptable from either party. Bassey's value has skyrocketed on the back of a season to remember where he was a key man on their thrilling run to Seville and made his debut for the Nigeria national team.
Rangers are keen to hold onto one of their emerging talents and it comes after the Telegraph claimed that Ajax are confident of sealing a £20m deal plus add-ons next week for the defender who can play in central defence and left back. Ross Wilson is overseeing the club's player trading model come to life on the back of Nathan Patterson and Joe Aribo 's money-spinning moves to the English Premier League.
And it's been all systems go in terms of incomings with four attacking players arriving over the past week. Bayern Munich's Malik Tillman has joined Rabbi Matondo, Antonio Colak and Tom Lawrence at Ibrox ahead of the new season with crucial Champions League qualifiers looming.
The push for new attacking talent comes amid uncertainty surrounding star pair Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos. Manager Gio van Bronckhorst revealed last week the duo are in talks over extending their Ibrox stays, however, a definitive decision is likely to be sought before the close of the summer transfer window.
