The crypto market continued its downward slide this week as worries over a potential Bitcoin has fallen nearly 5% in the last 24 hours to less than $80,000, its lowest price since mid-November. Other cryptocurrencies also fell on Monday as investors continued to flee risk-on assets. XRP is down 4% in the last 24 hours, Solana is down 7%, and Cardano is down 8%.

The president has imposed and partially removed aggressive tariffs on Canada, China, and Mexico in recent weeks, effectively starting a trade war between the U.S. and those three countries. When asked in a Fox News interview on Sunday if his aggressive tariff policy could trigger a recession this year, Trump responded that the country will experience a “period of transition.”
