‘The craziest hard launch in history’: Justin Trudeau casually confirms the insane relationship rumors are true

For months, we’ve seen them taking romantic walks, setting down for fancy dinners, attending shows — now it appears that it’s finally time to make the unlikely but apparently completely genuine Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau relationship real.

The former Canadian Prime Minister casually dropped a post on social media to mark his visit to Japan to meet with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko. But, in what has to be the most casual way of confirming you’re in a relationship with a global pop star in history, he dropped “Katy and I” into the mix:

You know, you can disagree with Trudeau’s politics, but when it comes to officially confirming to the world that you’re dating Katy Perry, it’s hard to argue this isn’t the smoothest way to do it.

It’s unknown how the pair first crossed paths, but this romance began to unfold in late July when the pair was spotted enjoying a cozy dinner at Montreal’s Le Violon restaurant. The sightings continued with the couple taking a romantic walk through Montreal’s Mount Royal Park a few days later, further fueling dating rumors.

What started as speculation soon evolved into confirmed romance, with insiders claiming that Trudeau has been “relentless in his pursuit” of Perry, fuelling rumors that they were officially exclusive.

Kustin? Jerry? What do we call them?

Then, in October, the pair were spotted celebrating Perry’s 41st birthday in Paris and not particularly trying to hide that they were together. But now, with Perry making an appearance on a diplomatic engagement between former world leaders, they’ve finally, publicly, made it official. But whatever’s going to happen in the future, the internet is here for it now:

I guess all we can say is… good for them? They look happy, so here’s hoping the pair can continue to travel the world and do whatever it is that former Canadian Prime Ministers do with their time.
