Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe was left to rue the Magpies' costly lapse in concentration at West Ham - not least because his squad worked tirelessly on the threat from set-plays in the build-up to the game.
Craig Dawson's free header from Aaron Cresswell's free-kick was actually West Ham's eighth goal from a dead ball this season and the Hammers are eighth in the table with goals from such scenarios.
Howe's side at least showed fighting spirit but perhaps should have won the game with the amount of chances created before and after Joe Willock's goal.
