The number of female travellers going it alone has skyrocketed in recent years, with women now making up 71 per cent of solo holidaymakers according to Virtuoso’s recent trends report. A global travel report by American Express found that 69 per cent of people surveyed plan to take a solo trip this year, with millennials and Gen-Z making up the majority, that adds up to a lot of solo trips.
