The Chase viewers 'shout at TV' after Edinburgh player in 'worst team ever' caught

Viewers of popular TV show The Chase viewers were left shouting at their screens after a team, with an Edinburgh contestant were branded 'the worst ever'.

During the episode, the first player to take on the chaser was marine biologist Ed from the capital.

The keen trumpet player was taking part in the show as he hoped to buy a synthesiser to make 'more noise', reports the Daily Record.

And the Chaser taking on the team was Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis.

During the cash builder Ed only managed to get £3,000, and opted to go for the full amount despite being offered £1,000 as the low offer and £20,000 as the high offer.

However, Ed was caught by Darragh after failing to give the correct answer in a question over the filling of Baklava.

Second player, Kirsten from Essex, was also caught by Darragh.

Third player Jane managed to get £7,000 in the cash builder but like her previous team mates, was caught by The Menace.

And last up was Matthew who went for the high offer of £50,000 saying he had 'nothing to lose', but it wasn't meant to be and after only a few questions at the table he was caught.

And many flocked to Twitter to talk about the episode.

One wrote: "The marine biologist's ship has sailed #TheChase."

Another added: "Damage was done when Kirsten and Ed went out …. #thechase."

Another wrote: "Shouting at the screen tonight on The Chase.."

While one said: "This is the worst ever."

Another said: "Well that was p*** poor. #thechase "

In the event of all players being eliminated, one contestant is given the opportunity to come back for the chance to win £1000 each and it was Kirsten who was nominated.

However, despite managing to get 15 questions correct it still wasn't enough to take home any cash.
