The Chase team bags one of 'highest final' scores ever - leaving Bradley Walsh speechless

Bradley Walsh was left completely dumbfounded on The Chase after a team compiled a huge score during the final. Each member of the team - comprising of Marion, Natalie, Tony and David - made their way through to the final round of the show against Chaser Anne Hegerty, as reported by ChronicleLive.

A mammoth £47,000 was on stake split between the competing quadruple - amounting to each party taking home in the region of £11,750 each. With four of them in the final, it meant they had got a head start by four places, something which they used to their advantage. In the end, the group managed an impressive 23 correct answers.

Host Bradley commented: "Regular viewers will know, that's very high. This is going to be proper close, it's time for the final chase." Anne was then given her chance to beat their impressive score, however, when the time ran out, Anne was at the 18 mark and failed to reach anywhere near.

As the team celebrated their incredible win, Bradley said: "Congratulations, take the £47,000, split it equally and go into the sunset, you've not been caught. Guess what? You've outrun the Chaser. Great performance.. A proper score, a real target. 23 - that's the target. If you can come on, you can hit 23, you're good enough."

The highest amount ever won on The Chase came back in 2018 when a full team managed to avoid being caught by Anne Hegerty to win a combined £100,000. Diane, Luca, Tim and Gayna defeated The Governess to bring home £25,000 each in the head-to-head rounds.

The team built up 22 steps and the pressure of the moment seemed to have gotten to 'Frosty Knickers' as she only managed to accumulate 14 points in the last round.

Bradley Walsh confirmed after the victory that the £100,000 won on this episode is the largest amount of money ever won on a daytime show.
