The Chase fans 'gutted' as player just 'misses out' on £63,000

The Chase fans were left "gutted" after a contestant turned down a huge offer, which he'd have banked had he accepted it.

On Wednesday, Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players to the studio. They were Zeyn from Glasgow, Trisha from Neath, Becky from Rossendale and Dan from Yeovil.

Zeyn was up first against the Menace and was sadly caught out, meaning he left the ITV studio with nothing, while Trisha banked £4,000 for the team.

Becky was up next and, after answering two questions correctly, she took Darragh Ennis' low offer of £1,000 - which she took back to the table.

Dan was up fourth and despite an impressive cash builder, he turned down a huge high offer of £70,000. He instead took a middle offer of £7,000, which he took back to the team.

Amid his good round against the Menace, Bradley Walsh scolded him for taking the middle offer. He said: "Just shows you guys at home, as well, when you come in you've gotta go for it".

Taking to Twitter, Sarah said: "Gutted for him missing out on £70k". cluckingduck170 said: "Cor 70k I'd have a pop at that". Mark said: "Why do so few quizzers go high?"

In the final Chase, Trisha, Becky and Dan went up against the Menace for a share of a potential £12,000. Sadly, they were caught after 12 questions with some 36 seconds to spare.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
