The Chase Bradley Walsh mortified as he fails to notice 'royalty' on ITV show

Bradley Walsh was mortified as he failed to spot a royal link on The Chase.

The 62-year-old presenter returned to front this week's final edition of the popular ITV game show. Mary, Henry, Liz and Tudor were testing their wits against Darragh Ennis in a bid to win thousands.

Viewers following the show on Twitter were quick to spot how all the players shared names with English Kings and Queens in the Tudor period. Rich said: "A royal lineup on #TheChase"

Joseph posted: "Royal connection with all their names." Wayne tweeted: "All names are kings and queens."

Liz was up in seat one and she told Bradley how she was an amateur mixologist in her spare time. Darragh referenced the royal theme as Queen Mary I was known as Bloody Mary by her opponents. He said: "Considering the contestant's names today, you have an appropriate hobby."

However, Bradley was baffled by the remark before he quickly realised the regal connection. He said: "I've done it again. What is the matter with me? Pay attention."

The team were in strong form on today's show as Mary, Henry and Liz booked their spot in the Final Chase. They were competing for £14,000 and built up 18 steps in the last round.

However, they left empty handed after The Menace caught them with 25 seconds remaining.
