The Celebrity Chase viewers 'complain' to Ofcom over celebrity line up

The Celebrity Chase returned to ITV tonight, March 19, and a new line-up of new famous faces took on quiz expert Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha to win some cash for charity.

But within minutes of the show starting, fans of the ITV quiz, hosted by Bradley Walsh, were wondering who the celebs were and even joked of complaining to broadcasting regulator Ofcom over the people they regarded as unknowns.

The ITV1 show saw drag queen The Vivienne, former Everton striker Tony Cottee, music producer Naughty Boy and comedian Jayde Adams take on the chasers with Bradley watching on.

Viewers shared their thoughts on Twitter about the celebs who, in all fairness, have been on top-rated shows like Strictly Come Dancing (Jayde), Dancing on Ice (The Vivienne), I'm a Celebrity (Naughty Boy) and also former footballer Tony scored more than 230 goals during his 19 year career.

@phillipplume said: "#TheChase Celebrity Special needs to be investigated by @Ofcom. There are people on the show impersonating celebrities" While @geoffhubbert said: "1/4 recognised because I was once slightly interested in football..."

@shaqlebongo said: "I thought this was #TheChase Celebrity. Only one I know on there is Tony Cottee and he’s barely a celebrity like"

@jaymattVA said: "#TheChase Celebrity Chase? Who are they? Never heard of any of them?" @stevehef said: "Celebrities, I recognise on #TheChase? One. That's it. One and he played for West Ham."

In the end, celebrities or not, they were all pretty hopeless at the quiz which saw three out of the four knocked out by The Sinnerman leaving Tony battle the Chaser for £4,000 for charity. Despite a valiant effort Tony was caught.
