Alex Smithies 7
Made a decent save from Jordan Williams' cross and commanded his box well.
Perry Ng 8
Carried on from his calm performance at right centre-half at the weekend. Rarely put a foot out of line and did well on the left when switched late on.
Sean Morrison NA
Hobbled off after just 10 minutes following an ankle injury.
Mark McGuinness 6
Positioned himself well for a number of dangerous crosses, cutting out the danger. One or two clumsy tackles earned him a yellow.
Cody Drameh 7
Tried his utmost to get Cardiff out down the wing but found the going tough. Defensively stuck to his task well, though.

Will Vaulks 7
Struggled to get his foot on the ball enough early on but put in a monumental defensive effort late on in the clash.
Ryan Wintle 7
Seems to be growing into his position a little more with some confidence behind him. Made some important defensive contributions late on.
Alfie Doughty 6
Made one or two really exciting bursts down the wing. Lost the ball once which gifted Devante Cole a chance, which was spurned. Was injured and had to be taken off.
Tommy Doyle 7
His technique sets him apart. He needs no second invitation to whip in dangerous crosses. Spurned one or two decent chances but largely classy.
Jordan Hugill 6
A really bitty game for the striker. Ran his heart out but there was nothing going for him. Slotted one home from an offside position.
Max Watters 5
Much like the above really. Fed off scraps for the most part but was muscled off the ball too easily as well. Looked off the pace and was subbed.
Subs
Aden Flint (for Morrison 11) 7 - A really solid performance, having been brought on from the bench early on.
Isaak Davies (on for Watters 56) 7 - Injected a bit of life into the game when he came on, stretching the Barnsley defence.
Uche Ikpeazu (on for Doughty 62) 8 (star man) - What a dream start to life at Cardiff City! Monstered past two defenders and bundled home the winner!
