The Boys season 5 finale will bring the hugely beloved Prime Video show to a final end – and showrunner Eric Kripke has teased it will be a "treat". The show creator went to a final screening of the episode's theatrical release version and posted about his experience on Instagram.
Sharing a picture of himself in the screening room, he wrote: "Testing the @4dxusa screening of @theboystv finale with the @primevideo gang. Holy fuck. A literal ride. Those who scored tickets are in for a treat. Thanks for a moment I'll never forget."
The final episode of the superhero show will be shown in theaters across the US, hours ahead of its release on Prime Video. Audiences will be get to see an immersive 4DX version of the episode, which will have a runtime of one hour and five minutes.
No trailer or synopsis has been confirmed for the final episode yet but it will pick up in the aftermath of the dramatic events of episode 7. This saw the Boys manage to give Kimiko powers akin to Soldier Boy after blasting her with uranium to make her the ultimate weapon in the fight against Homelander. It seems she'll have revenge on her mind too after her boyfriend Frenchie was murdered at the hands of the maniacal Supe as well.
The final episode will be the last time we see a lot of these characters, especially after spin-off Gen V was also canceled. However, the universe will continue with upcoming prequel Vought Rising as well as the reported spin-off The Boys Mexico.
