The Boys' Jensen Ackles teases "disgusting... outrageous" reunion with Supernatural co-stars in season 5

The Boys.

Soldier Boy actor Jensen Ackles admits he was "nervous" about The Boys season 5's Supernatural reunion.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Ackles teased a little of his time working once more with Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins.

"I was nervous to have them on. Not in a bad way – I wanted them to do good. They're family to me. We spent almost two decades together… It's like watching your son go up to bat for the first time. That's how I felt. Of course did they great. We had a great time."

Ackles added, "It was disgusting, it was outrageous. I think there were multiple days where we looked at each other like, 'What are we doing?' But we're used to Kripke's universes, so it wasn't that shocking. Having us together, it was weird working on camera with them playing different characters than we're used to playing. That was a little tricky; it took us a few takes to shake that out."

It's not yet clear who Padalecki and Collins (who starred alongside Ackles in Supernatural) are playing yet in the final season of Prime Video's blood-splattered superhero series, save for the former teasing that it was "unlike" anything from the "past 25 years of this wild career" during an appearance at Creation Chicago (H/T Bleeding Cool).

Additionally, showrunner and creator Eric Kripke – who also brought Supernatural to life – told Entertainment Weekly of the unlovable incoming pair, "They show up in episode 5. What I love about what they're doing is they're just such douchebags. It's great. I mean, Soldier Boy is no treat either, but they're just really not morally upstanding dudes. It's a blast to watch them play that. It was just so much fun."

The Boys season 5 premieres on Prime Video on April 8.
