The Boys fans think they have cracked the code on what the worst thing Homelander ever does in the whole series might be, and it involves The Deep and some Supe cannibalism.
After The Boys season 5 premiere, Homelander actor Antony Starr told Kelly Clarkson that "The worst thing I have done is yet to come," adding, "If you think killing children is bad. Just wait." Days later, episode 3 dropped, and many thought that the evil act Starr was teasing had to be when he pummels his son Ryan. But Starr assured fans that the scene in question was yet to come.
Now, one fan thinks they have cracked the code. In a Reddit post that has since been posted on Twitter, the fan says, "In The Boys season 5 episode 4, The Deep says that being eaten by him as sushi is the highest honour a fish could have. That led me to think about how there really isn't a lot of cannibalism in The Boys so far… After thinking about it and knowing Eric Kripke, I think this is how The Deep dies."
The Boys has broken a lot of taboos over its five seasons so far. Could the last be cannibalism? Fans were first shocked to see The Deep eating fish in episode 4 after he struggled to eat his Octopus lover in season 4 after Homelander forced him. Could consuming his girlfriend have forced The Deep onto a path that will eventually lead him to offering himself up as a seafood stick? The Supe has been desperate for the leader's attention all season. We just wonder how far his devotion will go.
However, other fans are not buying it, as one replied, "The deep will be killed by Homelander, but he is not going to eat him," and another added, "My idea for how the Deep dies is that he gets beaten by Annie in a fight and is then devoured by a bunch of fish for eating them and treating them like shit."
But others are theorizing how it could actually happen, pointing out that in The Boys comics, Homelander actually does eat people. "Imagine they do this instead of Homelander eating babies storyline," replied one Twitter user, and another added, "On one hand, that's disgusting. On the other hand, this would be arguably the most humiliating way The Deep could die."
We're now halfway through The Boys' final season, and the only major character to die so far is A-Train, who had his neck snapped by Homelander after saving Hughie, Frenchie, and MM from a Vought prisoner camp. With that, we're due for some more hard-hitting deaths.
