The Boston Celtics are already feeling the pinch of the NBA’s new collective bargaining agreement as they try to fill their roster with the sort of depth players they will need to compete for a title in the 2024 playoffs.
With little in the way of room to add talent without going over the dreaded “second apron” and being subject to all of the consequences, Boston needs to be careful with the moves it makes this offseason.
It also has to decide what to do with restricted free agent Grant Williams. Signing the former Tennessee player to a market deal would put the Celtics over the second limit as the team is constructed.
Are cap-clearing trades coming? Who should Boston pursue in free agency given its cap crunch?
The host of the “Locked On Sports Today” podcast recently weighed in on all this and more; take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what he had to say.
