The Boston Celtics are almost unstoppable when Derrick White is playing well. The ball club is 19-2 in games in which the Colorado native has scored in double digits, and 17-4 in games he’s made at least 4 assists. White has seen his role shrink a small amount with the trade for backup point guard Malcolm Brogdon having been made with the Indiana Pacers, but has still found ways to impact winning for much of the season.
Should the team try to get the Colorado alum going early to get him involved in the offense? Is it better for White to find his own shot in the rhythm of the game? Or is the correlation we see between big games for the Celtics guard and victory something more complex?
The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast took a deep dive into White’s play of late and its ties to Boston winning after the Celtics beat up on the Charlotte Hornets last week.
Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say about White’s role with the Celtics as the second half of the season starts to unfold.
