The Block’s Maddy & Charlotte Just Spilled Tea About Splitting The Winnings With Jesse & Paige

The Block Maddy and Charlotte winners and Jesse and Paige

The Block’s Maddy and Charlotte Harry had a bit of a whirlwind experience on the show. The two contestants entered the competition halfway through after replacing Jesse Maguire and Paige Beechey and received some harsh treatment from the other contestants. Well, they came out on top AND they’re fan faves!!! That’s karma in action for ya.

ICYMI, the sisters earned $1.55 million in profit plus $100K in prize money, but there’s been a bunch of discussion on social media about what exactly happens to all that cash. Considering Jesse and Paige renovated four of the rooms in the house, some believe the winnings should be shared. Of course, Jesse and Paige chose to walk away, so you’d assume they’re at peace with losing out.

In an interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle, Maddy said something that was verrrrry interesting.

“We have been told that contractually, [the profit and prize money is] ours as we sold it, but you know, they [Paige and Jesse] have been looked after and they’ll be just fine,” Maddy said.

“They were very gracious and sent us a message and congratulated us and were very excited which was really lovely.”

My head is spinning and I’m desperate to know how Jesse and Paige have been “looked after”. If anybody has a friend of a friend who knows any tea about this situation… please slide into my DMs!

Maddy and Charlotte are planning on using their winnings to fund a lil’ holiday, before getting right back into house flipping.

“That’s the plan, to probably buy another house that needs some renovation and then get our work boots back on and have our own little mini Block,” Maddy spilled.

Adrian Portelli reveals why he planned for Maddy and Charlotte to win The Block

Billionaire bidder Adrian Portelli — who casually bought the entire The Block complex for $15 million — also revealed today why he handpicked Maddy and Charlotte to win the show. And look, kindness pays!

“They cared, they came in late. They were the underdogs, they were picked on. They were bullied,” Portelli said on Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren

“My partner loves the show, and they were her favourites as well.”

According to Portelli, the girls were in on his big plan, which is why they picked to go last in the hotly-contested auction order.

“I spoke to the producer. And, you know, essentially, if you bought all the houses, the amenities (clubhouse) come for free. That was the goal. And then we just hand-selected the auction order, made sure the girls went last, so I could get them the win,” he said.

Portelli actually used a buyer’s agent to bid on Kristian and Mimi’s house, so that nobody knew he was trying to purchase all five.

“I’d be in a very vulnerable position coming into the auctions with the other bidders [if they knew] and a lot of them wanted to make a name for themselves… I had no choice,” he explained.

The billionaire bidder said on the show that he’s done with The Block for now, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens at the auction in 2025.
