The Block’s juicy affair storyline exploded on TV last night, and boy, it didn’t disappoint! While rumours have been flying around about what really happened when Brad Baker ‘cheated’ on his wife Kylie Baker with Mimi Belperio, dare I say it was even *more* dramatic than expected??
Brad confessed to camera that he’d “single-handedly destroyed [his] family” with his actions, and yep, this is gonna take a lot to come back from.
The cheating scandal all went down when Mimi ditched her husband Kristian Belperio at home and had a drink at Brad and Kylie’s place. Brad and Mimi started flirting while Kylie napped nearby, and she overheard some spicy comments.
“I said some pretty inappropriate comments. I was flirting with Mimi… Kylie overheard them, and understandably she’s quite upset,” Brad later admitted.
For a sec, I was worried we weren’t gonna find out exactly what Brad had said. Luckily, a furious Kylie called her mum and vented about everything her husband had done.
“Flirting, plus talking really inappropriately. How many fucking chances have I given him? Time after time… I actually feel disgusted. And how little I mean to him, is really sad,” she said.
“[He told Mimi] ‘Oh, you know, I’d follow your OnlyFans’,” before adding that Brad was “bitching” about her.
Honestly, the AUDACITY of this man. Not only do you have four children with Kylie, but you’re doing this on national television??? Men ain’t shit.
Naturally, Kylie yeeted out of there and I don’t think she’s coming back.
“We found her car, Block phone, all the high-vis… we’ve done everything we can to locate her and she has not been seen,” host Scott Cam announced.
She’d left a goodbye message on her Block phone which sounded pretty definitive.
“Alright, so I’m saying goodbye. I can’t be on national television having my marriage breaking down. So I’m going home, and I can’t say I’ll be returning,” she said.
Brad then shared his remorse during an interview with producers, but it’s all feeling a bit too little, too late.
“I’m embarrassed, and I feel sorry for other people having to live with my choices. She’s the last person I want to hurt — her or my kids or my family. But I managed to do it anyways. There’s no way this is going to go away or get better. It’s done,” he said.
“I’d very much say that I’ve just single-handedly destroyed my family.”
Are The Block’s Kristian and Mimi still together?
While Kylie and Brad seem to be donezo, Kristian and Mimi have been putting on a united front. The couple confirmed to Daily Mail that the whole flirt-gate did indeed happen, but it’s all in the past.
“Our relationship is stronger than ever,” Kristian said.
“The thing with the show is that everything we’ve done has happened in the past. We’ve learned from everything that we’ve been through, and we’re better for it… it doesn’t really bother me,” Mimi added.
Mimi apparently saw Kylie and Brad last week, and claimed “there’s no tension” between the couples. “I spoke to him. Yeah. But there is nothing going on,” she said.
Hmmm. Sounds rehearsed to me, but I guess we’ll find out more in the coming weeks.
Scott Cam hits back at claims the affair-drama was scripted
This whole affair bombshell seems like it’d be more suited to MAFS than The Block, so some viewers have been wondering if producers helped create it. However, in an interview with Daily Mail, Scott Cam himself dismissed this theory as nonsense.
“Our show is very organic, we leave them to our own devices,” he claimed. “We don’t orchestrate any of that drama. It all organically happens through lack of sleep and time pressures.”
Cam went on to hint that things get even ~messier~ in the weeks to come, which has me seated.
“We try calm it down the best we can, but sometimes it’s impossible, as you’ll find out in the next two weeks,” he spilled.
Is there going to be a messy reunion when the cast gets back together for the live auction? God, I’m obsessed with this whole debacle.
