Eddie Howe will take injured stars Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson on the club's warm weather training trip to Dubai today. The Magpies jet off on the back of a 1-0 defeat at Everton as they begin a 16-day gap in their schedule.
When play resumes they will take on Tottenham Hotspur on April 3 by which time Howe's selection options will have been boosted at least by the return of midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and the injured England international pair of Wilson and Trippier should be closer to fitness.
After being asked about the trip last night, Howe said: "We go tomorrow (Friday to Dubai). We will train, no game planned currently but that doesn’t mean we won’t.

"Injured players are coming with us. We’re trying to build a spirit and unity that we feel will be hugely important for the remaining games. All players will go."
Newcastle's trip to the Middle East sparked an unbeaten run of nine matches in the Premier League as Howe won manager of the month. Howe was frustrated after losing so late at Goodison Park, but is looking ahead to the trip, he said: "We’re looking at taking the group somewhere to build, really, on what we did in Saudi, which was a really, really good few days for us.
"I think it really did unite the squad. I think the players felt that came back and the results were very strong, and the spirit was very good off the back of that."
