Teachers, children and schools have been under immense pressure during the Covid pandemic with teaching from home implemented and huge disruption to classes.
With the country forced into lockdown to slow the spread of the virus, face to face teaching was stopped and schools had to adapt pretty much overnight to a new way of teaching and a new way of learning for pupils.
Classes were given online from kitchens, spare rooms, offices and dining room tables in what proved to be a major headache to solve across the country.
Local Covid outbreaks and new variants meant teaching and children have been affected for nearly two years now.
But the importance of a good education for their children still remains a top priority for parents.
The education watchdog Ofsted inspects schools and publishes the results of inspections.
It looks at the quality of teaching and learning, children's behaviour, welfare and personal development, as well as outcomes.
They are a key indicator of how well a school is performing and are an important tool for parents looking at how well their child is being taught.
And across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire a number of schools have received the highest rated 'outstanding' rating over the years.
Ofsted has since started inspecting schools once again, but most of the below ratings are before the Covid pandemic.
Here are the schools in the city and county with an 'outstanding' rating from Ofsted with data from 2021 on the gov.uk website:
