Wait, September? Already?! It might not feel like it, but we're now into the final stretch of 2025, and it's been an absolutely massive year for metal. Both Sleep Token and Ghost managed to bag number 1s (though only ST managed the feat both sides of the Atlantic), but there's also been a seemingly non-stop barrage of new records from metal heavyweights.
Be it veterans like Machine Head, Lacuna Coil and Killswitch Engage, or emerging talent from across the metal world including Architects, Babymetal, Lorna Shore, Bloodywood and Spiritbox, we've had an impressive spread of new music to feast on this past year.
