The Best Marvel TV Shows To Watch If You’re Scratching For More Post-Deadpool & Wolverine

If you’ve been wanting to catch some more Marvel goodness after watching Deadpool & Wolverine look no further.

I’m here to give you the scoop on some of the best Marvel content out there that you should absolutely get your eyes on.

The Marvel Universe has a boatload of content, and unless you’re a die-hard MCU fan, odds are you’re gonna struggle to keep up with everything. Add in crossovers and multiversal shenanigans, and following anything Marvel these days feels like studying for an exam more than just enjoying a quality series.

But worry not, because I’ve got the best picks for Marvel content you can just switch on and immediately start enjoying without feeling overwhelmed.

Marvel Anime: X-Men (2011)

We’re all familiar with the classic X-Men series, so to get started, why don’t we look at something completely different?

Marvel Anime: X-Men is a different Beast (he has a snoot in this one) compared to other X-Men series. The first, obviously, is that it’s an anime, and takes inspiration from the genre’s storytelling and iconic fight scenes.

The series starts after the death of fellow X-Men Jean Gray. While mourning, the group begin investigating the case of a mutant who suspiciously disappeared in Japan. The investigation leads them to discover a new deadly virus that turns mutants into terrifying monsters. Multiple anti-mutant groups also catch wind of this and plan to weaponise it against mutantkind.

The series also introduces Armor, a hidden fan fave from the 2000s-era comics whose powerful defensive power lets her take on heavy hits. Which is helpful, as she often has to square up against some of the X-Men’s toughest villains.

The series is oozing with that black leather 2000s edginess, making it perfect for Breaking Benjamin fan music videos someone from your high school definitely made, and it’s all the better for it.

You can check out the show show for free on PEDESTRIAN TELEVISION via 9Now.

The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008)

Wanting to get into a Spider-Man show but don’t want to see Peter Parker’s life falling apart? Great! Because this series won’t give you an existential crisis about adulthood.

The show follows Peter Parker in high school as he starts his Spidey-journey. You’re introduced to some of his great supporting cast like Mary Jane, Flash Thompson (who later becomes Venom), Harry Osbourne and Gwen Stacey, as the series brings some of the best Spidey stories to this series. You also get to see Spider-Man meet several of his greatest villains, with some fresh takes on their designs and backstories.

There’s a reason why after 13 years, fans are still clammoring for the series to get another season, with many saying it’s the best animated Spider-Man series out there.

You can watch the first season on Binge.

Legion (2017)

Okay, you wanna start talking about hidden gems? Let’s talk about Legion. Only myself and like, five other people watched this show, but we were very happy, and now, I’m letting you into our little group.

Legion comes from the mind of Noah Hawley, who also created Fargo (one of the best TV shows of all time).

The show follows David Haller (Dan Stevens), a man diagnosed with schizophrenia receiving treatment at a psychiatric facility. However, after an encounter with another patient, David starts to realise that he might not actually be ill, and instead is manifesting telepathic powers.

Legion is the superhero name of David Haller, and is the son of Charles Xavier, who, in the comics, goes back in time to kill Magneto. He does a big oopsie though, accidentally killing his own father and plunging the X-Men into another dystopian nightmare dubbed “The Age of Apocalypse”.

In the show, we’re treated to dense psychedelic scenes thanks to David’s powers and distorted worldview. If you’re keen for a trippy show unlike anything in the superhero genre, you have to check out Legion.

The series aired its last episode in 2019 with its third season and you catch every episode on Disney+.

Daredevil (2015)

Before 2015, you’d be laughed out of the room for suggesting a live-action Marvel show could stand next to Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones. Then, Daredevil came out and gave us the most badass hallway fight scene of all time.

Taking place in Hell’s Kitchen, the show follows Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a small-time blind lawyer with heightened senses, who, at night, dons the Daredevil costume to take on the criminal underworld of New York. The series also features one of the best TV villains through Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), an emotionally volatile and imposing crime lord. You’re first introduced to Fisk as he decapitates a dude with a car door, and later, making a very aesthetic omellete (using a steel spatula on a non-stick frying pan, which is amateur hour, but you wouldn’t catch me telling him that).

Daredevil is Marvel at its peak, and why fans of the Netflix series have been begging for almost a decade to bring the characters back into the MCU. The show had a superb ensemble cast, an excellent roster of villains and some of the most unique fight scenes that’ll warp your brain chemistry for good.

If you’re in the mood for a tight action-filled show that makes you feel the weight of every punch, you’ll love Daredevil.

You can catch up on the series on Disney+ before Daredevil: Born Again drops next year.

Hawkeye (2021)

Let’s be honest, no one expected a Hawkeye TV show to be anything special. Little did we know we were going to get a banger of a series — and a solid show to add to our Christmas watchlist.

The series follows Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and his daughter Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), who has also picked up the bow and dreams of becoming a superhero like her dad. After his entire family got blipped, Hawkeye kinda went on a murder rampage and now, criminal forces are coming for revenge. Needing to protect his family, and save Christmas, Hawkeye teams up with his daughter to confront his past.

The mini-series dropped in 2021, and you can catch all episodes on Disney+.

Loki (2021)

The show starring everyone’s dreamy trickster Loki (Tom Hiddleston) came out swinging and did not miss. Loki introduced us to a cast of characters so compelling, fans didn’t even care that Marvel heavyweights Thor or Iron Man didn’t show up.

The series follows the Loki from Endgame who disappeared with the Tesseract towards the end of the movie. Having broken the timeline, Loki is quickly arrested by the TVA (a sort of time police), but is recruited to help them track down another Loki who has evaded their attempts to capture them by hiding in apocalypses.

I’m going out on a limb here to say that this show beats the Marvel-fatigue accusations. It’s easily one most inspired series to come from Disney’s growing library of TV shows, and the only one that had me coming back week after week for more. The chemistry between Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson is an all-timer and turn the show into a great buddy-cop time hopping show.

It’s also got an absolute killer soundtrack that would make Hans Zimmer jealous. The series flexes some top notch visual effects, showcasing some truly terrifying sci-fi sequences that’ll haunt your dreams for years to come (I think that’s neat!).

If you came out of Deadpool & Wolverine scratching your head over what a multiverse is and who the TVA are, you’ll want to start with this series.

The series wrapped up with its second season, which dropped last year. You can watch every episode now on Disney+.

Wandavision (2021)

Wandavision was Marvel’s first foray into episodic TV and it’s hard to deny that it wasn’t great.

Focusing on (at the time) minor characters Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olson) and Vision (Paul Bettany), the series got to run wild with its setting thanks to Wanda’s chaotic magic.

After Vision’s death at the end of Infinity War and defeating Thanos and his army in Endgame, Wanda attempts to assimilate back into normal life. Without Vision by her side however, Wanda spirals with grief, waking up to find herself and Vision living as a couple in famous sitcoms. Through outside hints, the pair are able to figure out that their reality isn’t real, and someone behind the scenes is manipulating them.

As a comedy nerd (also known as “huge loser”), I loved these homages to all these sitcoms from different eras. It also made the horror elements of the show all the more jarring and tense.

Every episode of the first and only season is available to watch on Disney+.

X-Men: ’97 (2024)

This year’s revival of the classic ‘90s X-Men cartoon is not only the best X-Men series out there but also arguably one of the best shows of 2024.

Taking place where the original series left off, the X-Men are forced to reckon with the loss of Professor Xavier as a new, well-armed anti-mutant organisation continues to aggressively harass and capture mutants. Cyclops, the defacto leader of the X-Men (and the best X-Man don’t @ me), struggles to lead the group due to his old fashioned ways.

It’s rare and special when a show revives an old classic and is able to not only live up to the original, but make it even better. The show hits so many emotional gut punches, but still manages to keep its charm, humour and heart, while having powerful and poignant takes on bigotry and identity.

It’s not only the best X-Men show, but it might just be the best show to release this year, and one everyone should absolutely catch.

The first season just wrapped up in May, with a second season expected to drop some time in 2026 at the latest. You can binge every episode on Disney+.
