Manchester United players have praised David de Gea after he was confirmed as the Premier League Golden Glove winner.
The Spaniard has kept 17 clean sheets this season, more than anyone else. The shutout against Bournemouth confirmed that he will finish the campaign with the most clean sheets with none of his competitors now able to catch up with his total tally of clean sheets.
United beat Bournemouth 1-0 to put themselves on the brink of UEFA Champions League qualification thanks to Casemiro's acrobatic goal. De Gea made several important saves to preserve the victory, particularly denying Kieffer Moore one-on-one in the final few minutes.

After winning the award with his 17th clean sheet, the goalkeeper posted a picture on Instagram with the caption: "17", with a gold medal. His team-mates then flooded the comments with messages of support. Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire were all quick to congratulate De Gea.
Casemiro wrote: "The best," while De Gea's understudy Jack Butland added: "Big dog."
Fernandes simply commented with the crown emoji, while Harry Maguire posted several clapping hands.
Victor Lindelof also shared an Instagram story of himself and Luke Shaw with the United goalkeeper. He wrote: "This guy. Congratulations on the golden glove brother."
Dea Gea's position as Erik ten Hag's number one goalkeeper remains under scrutiny. Talks over a new contract are ongoing with the club hoping to persuade the Spaniard to take a pay cut to stay at Old Trafford but it remains unclear if he will definitely be first choice after the summer.
