Australian TV’s night of nights is officially upon us, with the 64th TV WEEK Logie Awards red carpet kicking off at The Star in Sydney on Sunday afternoon.
This is only the second year the Logies have been held in Sydney, migrating up the coast from its home in Melbourne (via a brief stint in the Gold Coast) last year. The ceremony will once again be hosted by comedian Sam Pang following rave reviews in 2023, thanks to his ability to lovingly roast everyone in attendance.
There are 23 awards up for grabs this year, with shows like The Lost Flowers Of Alice Hart, Bay of Fires both in the running. It’s also a particularly exciting year for streaming services, with Boy Swallows Universe and Heartbreak High, which both received nominations this year. And of course, we have Asher Keddie, Larry Emdur, Tony Armstrong, Andy Lee, Robert Irwin, Sonia Kruger and Julia Morris all vying for the top gong, the Gold Logie.
But for us, the most exciting moments will always revolve around the Logies red carpet. Each year, the who’s who of Australian media descend on the carpet in glittering gowns often made by the country’s top designers, plus, we get a rare glimpse into the sweet moments on the carpet between friends and colleagues from some of our favourite shows.
