You can already find great deals on our top-rated headphones and wireless earbuds. - (The Independent)

Whether you’re after a pair of noise-cancelling headphones for your commute, a set of workout earbuds or a premium pair of over-ear headphones for listening at home, Black Friday is a great time to upgrade your audio setup for less.

The annual sale – which officially kicks off on 29 November this year – sees big discounts on everything from laptops and TVs to smartphones and electric toothbrushes, but some of the biggest savings can be found on headphones.

In my role as IndyBest’s resident tech expert, I’ve started rounding up the best discounts on my favourite headphones and earphones from all the major brands, including Apple, Sony, Bose, Sennheiser and more.

What are the best headphone deals to shop now?

If you’re looking for a new pair of headphones and don’t want to wait until Black Friday, there are already some decent deals to be had. These are the biggest discounts I’ve found online.

Apple AirPods (3rd gen): Was £179, now £139, Very.co.uk

(Apple)

The fourth-generation AirPods launched recently, adding the option of active noise-cancellation to Apple’s standard earbuds. If you don’t need ANC, then you’re better off picking up a deal on the older AirPods, which still impress with spatial audio, long battery life, clear calling and compatibility with the Find My network. Here’s a £40 discount at Very.

Sony WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds: Was £259, now £188.99, Amazon.co.uk

(Sony)

Sony’s latest wireless earbuds are 27 per cent off at Amazon. They reign supreme in our round-up of the best wireless earbuds, and our tester was impressed by the noise-cancellation and sound quality. The WF-1000XM5 have “a level of deft clarity and forensic detail that makes every part of the music soar, from vocals to mid-range and bass,” they noted.

Apple AirPods Max: Was £459, now £429, Currys.co.uk

(Apple)

The AirPods Max can be expensive, especially compared to rivals Sony and Bose, but this £30 discount at Currys brings Apple’s official headphones down to a more palatable price. In their review of the AirPods Max, our tech writer said “these headphones are premium, but they sound premium, too. If you are even slightly tempted you will find [they] could change how you listen to music.”

Sony WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones: Was £379, now £247, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

Sony sits at the top of our round-up of the best wireless headphones with the WH-1000XM5. With impressive noise cancellation and impeccable sound quality, they’re the headphones to beat. “Whether it’s orchestral music, rap, podcasts or your favourite pop tracks, the WH-1000XM5 handle it all with poise and gumption,” our writer said in their review.

Sennheiser momentum 4 wireless bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones: Was £289, now £199, Currys.co.uk

(Sennheiser)

With a £90 discount for Black Friday, the Sennheiser momentum 4 wireless headphones are currently at their lowest price ever at Currys. Thanks to the brand's signature sound with a 42mm transducer system, the headphones ensure that sound has maximised dynamics and clarity. Great for commuting and long journeys, the adaptive noise cancellation automatically adapts to your surroundings, so you won’t get distracted by rustling crisp packets or loud conversations whilst trying to listen to your favourite podcast.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds: Was £299.95, now £199, Amazon.co.uk

(Bose)

We’re big fans of the Bose QC Ultra wireless earbuds, a brilliant-sounding pair of noise-cancelling buds that have fallen to £199 at Amazon. “They sound better than almost every competitive pair of earbuds we’ve tested,” our writer said in their Bose QC Ultra review.

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2: Was £219, now £189, Amazon.co.uk

(Google)

There’s £30 off Google’s newest earbuds in the tech giant’s Black Friday sale. Designed to pair seamlessly with the Pixel phones, the upgraded Pixel Buds Pro 2 offer an improved fit, impeccable noise-cancellation, longer battery life and the ability to have hands-free conversations with Google’s new AI assistant, Gemini.

Google Pixel Buds Pro: Was £199, now £129, Amazon.co.uk

(Google)

The pro version of Google’s original wireless earbuds are down to £129 at Amazon. The newer Pixel Buds Pro 2 launched a few months back (and are also discounted, above), but the first edition earbuds are still a great buy at this price. Designed to work seamlessly with Pixel devices, they’re a great-sounding pair of noise-cancelling buds with excellent battery life.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3: Was £159, now £99, Amazon.co.uk

(Samsung)

The latest Galaxy Buds 3 feature a stick design similar to Apple’s earbuds, but at £99 with this deal, they have a distinctly non-Apple pricetag. The Galaxy Buds 3 offer great audio quality and active noise-cancellation, connect seamlessly with Galaxy devices and have a generous battery life.
