The best Geordie gifts to get your fatha to celebrate Father's Day on June 19

With Father's Day just around the corner, people will be coming up with ways to show how much their dads mean to them.

And what better way to put a smile on your fatha's face on June 19 than giving him a special Geordie-themed gift.

There are plenty of traders in the North East offering some wonderful presents, displaying our great Geordie humour. Here, we have put together a list of ideas. So look down the list and get shopping.

Geordie cards

A superb selection of cards are on offer for Father's Day, some with hilarious messages. Geordie Gifts, which sells products online as well as at Grainger Market in Newcastle, has a canny selection of cards priced at £3.50, some with football-related messages for NUFC fans. One says "Yi kna that feeling when the ball hits the back of the net & St James' Park gans mental, a love yee more than that. Happy Fatha's Day." There are also cards with references to Alan Shearer and Philippe Albert. Then there's one that explains the meaning of Fatha and says "Proper class bloke who fixes everything but tells bad jokes".

Meanwhile, For The Love Of The North has some nice cards too, for £2.75. Messages include "Dad you're geet lush" and "Ah dad, you're dead canny".

Geordie mugs

As with the cards, you can get mugs with special messages on. Examples from Geordie Gifts include "A love yee to the Toon and back" and "Dad a divvent kna what ad dee wivoot yee", priced at £12.50. North East Gifts has a string of lovely prezzies online. There are mugs, costing £7.99, featuring messages as well as images of landmarks.

Decorations

You can get numerous decorations with a Geordie twist. North East Gifts is selling metal signs online which could be suitable for your dad, such as one showing sunflowers inside a Newcastle Brown Ale bottle for £15.99, or prints like "We Play in Black and White". There are also a string of posters and paintings on sale through other gift shops, featuring Geordie landmarks or messages.

T-shirts

A search on Google will bring up T-shirts your dad might like to wear. Geordie Gifts has £20 ones that say "Proper Class Fatha" and others with sport-related messages, including ones with Kevin Keegan and Alan Shearer on. You can browse through them here.

Elsewhere, Jesmundo has some great slogans for men. If your dad is a Star Wars fan, then a £15.99 "I am your Fatha" T-shirt will hit the spot. Music lovers may like "I may be old but I got to see all the cool bands". Or this one from a daughter might be suitable - "I love my daughter (yes she bought me this shirt)".

Beer and nuts

This is a fantastic prezzie for a North East dad. Northumbrian Gifts is offering this delightful £32 local ale gift pack - Father's Day beer and proper posh nuts.
