London Fashion Week marks its 40 year anniversary this year, and it attracted a host of celebrities to the front row seats to watch it all unfurl.
Monday evening saw events close in exceptionally starry, big-tented style thanks to Burberry’s All Points East-style take over of Victoria Park. Celebrities streamed in — from surprise spots Joanna Lumley and Olivia Coleman to leading men Callum Turner and Barry Keoghan, models Cara Delevingne, Lila Moss and Georgia-May Jagger, as well as footballers Bukayo Saka and Son Heung-min. A stellar cast to celebrate Britain's zhuzhiest luxury brand.
Sunday’s showings were led by JW Anderson — one of the city’s most exciting shows — allowing for brief sightings of Keeley Hawes, Minnie Driver, Tracey Emin and Jurgen Teller. Simone Rocha also counted glamorous fans who streamed into East London’s St Bartholomew-the-Great church; Andrew Scott, Douglas Booth, Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof all manned the pews.
Rosamund Pike’s arrival at the Molly Goddard show on Saturday afternoon made sure everyone sat up a little straighter. The Saltburn actor, who is up for Best Supporting Actress in Saltburn at tomorrow’s Baftas, sat alongside model Edie Campbell to see the autumn winter 2024 collection from the designer best known for her candy-coloured tulle dresses.
Saturday morning started at the Barbican centre, East London, with 16Arlington's latest offering designed by Marco Capaldo. There to support was Heartstopper star Sebastian Croft, Sabrina Elba, Alexa Chung and Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley.
On Friday, the newest addition to London’s front row appeared to be Bobby Brazier, son of the late Jade Goody and last year’s Strictly sensation. He appeared alongside the Hon Delphi Primrose, the aristocratic model, at the Edward Crutchley, Mark Fast and Sinéad O'Dwyer shows.
Meanwhile, Joanna Lumley made an appearance to perform a poem London-jeweller Completedworks’s presentation, and Maya Jama and Bimini were seen at spikey knitwear designer Chet Lo.
It comes after Harris Reed had started the week with intent at his Thursday night show at the Tate Britain. There, Bridgerton actors Golda Rosheuvel and Charithra Chandran sat alongside Kaya Scodelario (Effy from Skins), Maya Jama and Zawe Ashton. And an unlikely fan of the gender fluid Central Saint Martins designer — Rupert Everett, who was no frills in jeans and a puffer.
