The best Batman movies are a perfect mix of excellent casting, mesmerizing and menacing villains and a director that nails the vibe, whether it's Christopher Nolan's gritty Dark Knight trilogy or Tim Burton's weird and wonderful Batman Returns. The Batman character has been around since 1939, which means there's been ample opportunity to reshape his superhero story.
